Week of August 18th

WELCOME to the FALL SHORT COURSE SEASON !  ASC coaches are looking forward to a full week of practice with a working circulation pump - - many thanks to Coach Mark for making it happen !

• Bronze 1: Mon & Wed, 4 – 4:40 w/Coach Barbara
• Bronze 2: Mon & Wed, 4:45 – 5:25 w/ Coach Barbara
• Silver: Mon, Wed & Thurs, 5:30 – 6:30 w/ Coach Amanda & Coach Barbara
• Gold: Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs 5:15 – 6:30 w/Coach Kerry (M, T, Th) and Coach McKenna on Wed
• Senior: MWF am & MTWTHF after school
• Gold & Senior Swimmers:  Saturday 7:30 - 9 AM

PENTATHLON on Aug. 30^th at HPA / ASC Hosts: Warm-up @ Noon/ Meet Starts @ 1 PM

LSC having a glitch in posting the meet notice, but hopefully the meet file is up by Tuesday. PLEASE commit or decline as soon as you know your swimmer’s status. You have to be USA registered to compete.

• 1) Choose a track – 5 events
• a. - 8 & Under – 25 of each stroke & 100 IM
• b. - 8 & U, 9 to 18 – 50 of each stroke & 100 IM
• c. - 9 to 18 – 100 of each stroke & 200 IM
• 2) Pick Individual events – max of 5

SAMUEL EVANOVICH (9) traveled to Kauai over the weekend, representing ASC in the Kauai Classic swim meet.  He swam all best times, placing in the top eight and made a Champ time in the 50 Back for 10&U and an IN time in the 500 free for 11&12.

TEE SHIRTS – Coach Mark is ordering team tee shirts on Tuesday morning.  Coach Barbara will be confirming tee shirt sizes on Monday, as it seems some swimmers have grown since their size was entered on the website. Team Picture!

• Nov. 20 – 22 – Sr. Champs on Oahu – VMAC or U of H Manoa - Coach Mark
• Dec. 6 & 7 – Ken Suenaga Invitational – VMAC – Coach Kerry deck coach
• Dec. 14 – BIS Schedule “A” at HPA / ASC Hosts

Monday, Sept. 15 – we will have an awards ceremony recognizing achievements from the Long Course Season, with awards, a potluck and pool play time.  All swimmers are invited - - timeline still to be determined.

BECOME AN OFFICIAL - - with 90 swimmers on the team, we need more officials to meet the quota set by our LSC, which is 1 official for every 15 swimmers – so a minimum of 6 officials.  The official is counted once they have worked 10 sessions. Each BIS meet has 2 sessions, so it takes 5 meets to fulfill the 10-session requirement.  Officiating meet count start Sept. 1, 2025 and runs through Aug. 31, 2026.  We offer tuition subsidy for our officials. Officials start out as stroke and turn judges, you can check with our current certified officials: Melissa Schad, Oscar Pouoa, Robyn Scarth or Ranya Williams.  If you would like to “try” - - please contact Coach Barbara to get signed up and start the process.  You are needed and appreciated!
