It was an amazing weekend of swimming competitions !!

Friday evening 5 ASC swimmers competed in the first of a new 3 Part Senior Series on Oahu.  Friday’s competition was a Pentathlon of 100’s: the 4 strokes and 100 IM. It was a very exciting high-level competition at the U of H, with scoring for 3 age groups: 13-14, 15-18 & 19&O.  Points were awarded for placing in the top 16.

Congratulations to:

  • Kali (13-14): 128 points, top finish 3rd in 100 Free, 100 Fly & 100 Back
  • Coleson: 28 points, top  finish 2nd in 100 Breast
  • Eddy: 34 points, top finish 10th in 100 Back
  • Leonie: 65 points, top finish 7th in 100 IM
  • Pemma: 58 points, top finish 2nd in 100 Breast

Saturday, 47 ASC swimmers competed in the Big Island Swimming meet in Kona.  Coaches were happy to see many best times achieved at the meet!  All of the swimmers are to be congratulated!  And a special thank you to the adults who volunteer their time to make the meet run:  Referree Melissa Schad, Stroke & Turn Officials Ranya Williams, CarolAnn Rose, Mahealani Yamashita & Forrest McMahon, and Timers Lora Sakai, Lauren Prutow-McKenna & Greg McKenna.

13-14:

  • Kyla – IN in 100 Breast, A in 50 Free & B in 100 Free
  • Levi – IN in 100 Breast
  • Zion - A in 200 Breast

11-12:

  • India:  B in 100 Breast
  • Vivian:  IN in 100 Breast

10&U:

New NWAGR Time Standards Were Achieved (based on last year, new time standards not posted yet - for Seattle in March)

  • Paxton (10&U) in 50 Back, 100 Free & 100 Fly
  • Samuel (10&U) in 100 & 200 Free & 100 Breast

I had a lot of fun sorting through ribbons, checking time standards and seeing time improvement last night.   Results were tallied manually, so omissions do happen! Please let me know if I missed someone, or if you have any questions.  Coach Barbara
